HomeNow Indy
What is HomeNow Indy?
The HomeNow Indy Initiative is a coordinated, system-wide approach connecting individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis with rental assistance and services that will help them find housing and stay housed long-term. We are grounded in the belief that ending homelessness requires access to safe, affordable, and person-centered permanent housing choices.
Our Approach
RDOOR Housing Corporation leverages our capital and relationships with lenders, grantors and local governments to develop and manage affordable housing. We directly invest in housing rather than individual households helped by other social service organizations. We support individuals and families by connecting them with housing resources through HomeNow Indy. HomeNow Indy is a different approach to rehousing. It encompasses the entire Indianapolis ecosystem to make housing the central feature helping vulnerable individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability. It pulls the collective skills of our community together to collaborate through three components - Navigation, Housing Acquisition and Case Management.
HomeNow Indy Teams
Fiscal and Grant Administration
Centralized Rent and Grant Administration structure that serves an intermediary between the sources that fund rental assistance, service providers, and landlords. The fiscal and grant administration team reduces administrative burden to service providers, absorb cash flow strains, and supports compliance requirements across multiple funding sources.
Housing Acquisition
System-facing team dedicated to finding, securing, and expanding available housing inventory and housing choices to quickly rehouse people experiencing homelessness. HAT works closely with Property Owners and Management partners recruiting and securing units with Flexible Criteria utilizing Padmission as a unit inventory database and available incentives (Hold Fees and Risk Mitigation).
System Navigation
Identifies clients who are projected to be referred to housing programs through the Coordinated Entry System (CES). The System Navigation Team assists households with the housing process by helping clients obtain documents, clear legal barriers, identify housing, and get to and through lease signing.
